Debalina Bhowmick

Debalina Bhowmick, a folk singer, based at Kolkata, is trained in north Indian classical and Bengali folk song. Debalina uses authentic Indian instruments, including flute, dhol (percussion) and dotara (string). She has performed at various National and International Festivals including Copenhagen World Music Festival, MIPAF festival at Malaysia, Morocco Festival, EtnoKrakow at Poland, Colours of Ostrava at Czech Republic, Urkult at Sweden, Salfoldi Dalfold at Hungary and Karlsruhe Festival at Germany. She has also participated in many conferences including WOMEX from 2014, Without Borders - at Bulgaria, Ritmo conference at Budapest, Hungary, Musica Mundo at Brazil, Dutch Delta sound at Netherlands, Crossroads at Czech Republic, IAMIC Music Conference at Cyprus, ITB Berlin.

Dipannita Acharya

Dipanita Acharya is a proficient and prolific artist in the genre of folk music. Over the years, she has marvelled the audiences with a plethora of various regional folk songs, especially those from Bengal, Assam, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Her introduction to folk music happened through her own cultural roots from Chittagong (Bangladesh). She grew as a musician under the tutelage of several gurus like Abhijit Bose, Parvathy Das Baul, Pt. Binoy Bhattacharya and Ustaad Waseem Ahmed Khan. She is also a multi-instrumentalist as she plays Ekathara, Duggi, Ghungoor, Satar and has collaborated with artists from Denmark, France and Copenhagen. She has performed in different parts of India as well as at the Urkult Festival in Sweden, Bangladesh, China and Sri Lanka. Dipanita is a known face when it comes to playback for cinema and television.

Sanjay Mondal

Sanjoy Mondal hails from Birbhum district and is an accomplished folk musician. His singing career started about 16 years back. He has trained under veteran Bauls and folk singers like Bishwanath Ganguly, Ramkanai Das and Harekrishna Pal and has performed at various Government organized programmes, festivals and fairs in rural Bengal. He performs with his own team of singers and musicians and brings an earthy realism into his performances.

Deepmoy Das

Deepmoy Das is a young, graded vocalist of All India Radio in Kolkata. He specialized in folk music under the guidance of many noted Baul-Fakiri singers after being trained in Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti and Khayal in his early years. Deepmoy has performed for many television channels, including Tara TV, Rupashi Bangla, Akash Aath, Mon TV, DD Bangla and Zee Bangla. His collaboration with the Bangla folk fusion band Wrong Tuli earned him great respect. He has performed on stage across West Bengal as well as in Goa and Jharkhand. He has also performed in Bangladesh and Bhutan and London.

Arpan Thakur Chakraborty

Arpan Thakur Chakraborty is a young musician from Kolkata who started his journey at the tender age of 5. In the initial days, he received training in Hindustani Classical Vocal,Light Classical Vocal and Rabindra Sangeet. With time, Arpan started developing interest in various musical instruments and started expressing his melodies through Acoustic Guitar and Banjo, and trained himself in playing these instruments under Santanu Dutta and Tutul Ganguly (Acoustic Guitar) and Saroj Barua (Banjo).Since 2004, he got fascinated by folk music and started connecting himself with his roots. This made him travel extensively across rural Bengal. His transformation and development as a folk musician was spurred by his association with legendary Bauls and Fakirs. He learned to play Dotara from traditional masters, including Golam Fakir and Tarak Khyapa. Arpan is now a well-known Kolkata-based Dotara player and learning world music from Pandit Ranajit Sengupta. He has performed at various national and international festivals, apart from regional and rural fairs and festivals. These include China South Asia Expo 2015, Ethno Krakow Crossroad music festival in Poland 2017, Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2018,USA and Fagun Fest,London 2019, Children’s Festival at Indian Habitat Center in New Delhi, Lokotsav in Goa, Sangeet Mela in Kolkata, Kolkata International Film Festival.

Sandip Bag

Sandip Bag Born in Kolkata in 1970, Sandip started playing the Table when he was just five years old. He was subsequently groomed by veteran Tabla exponents like Sangram Mukherjee and Subhankar Banerjee. Sandip has performed at many places in West Bengal and also in Delhi, Lucknow and Goa. He has also performed in Poland and France.

Sajib Sarkar

Sajib Sarkar Born in 1985, Sajib is a promising and popular young Dhol artiste who started off as a Tabla player at the age of eight. He was subsequently trained in playing the Tabla by the noted Guru, Pandit Samar Saha. Sajib started learning to play the Dhol and Khol, all by himself, at the age of 19. He has performed for many television channels, apart from at events across West Bengal and in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Nagpur and Allahabad. Sajib has also performed in Paris and Bangladesh.

Tarun Choudhury

Tarun Choudhury very well known flute player. Trained under the guidance from Guru Sri. Uday Dey. Performed many programme in different Bengali & national TV channels like Tara Music, Akash Bangla, 24 Ghanta, DD Bangla, Rupashi Bangla, ABP Ananda, DD Mumbai, DD Delhi etc etc. Performed many programme in India & abroad like Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore, UK 2003, 2008, USA 2006, France2003, Belgium, China, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Senegal, Ghana etc etc.
